Steele began acting in the early 1970s and had guest roles in TV shows such as Homicide, Matlock Police, The Young Doctors, Cop Shop, Prisoner, Carson's Law, Sons and Daughters, E-Street, A Country Practice, All Saints, Police Rescue, The Flying Doctors and Blue Heelers
