Bio: She entered the Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy when it reopened in 1978 and graduated in 1982. Her second and third feature films, "The Bloody Morning" and "Family Portrait", won the Grand Prix at the Festival of Three Continents and the Jury Award at Locarno Film Festival respectively
